Are naturopathic doctors licensed?
Yes, naturopathic medicine is a licensed and regulated profession in BC. We are government-regulated by the Ministry of Health and the Health Professions Act. In addition, we are regulated by the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC.
What conditions are treated by naturopathic medicine?
NDs are trained as primary health care providers, so the majority of conditions are within our scope of practice. Some commonly treated ailments include:

What can I expect on my first appointment?
Your initial visit is up to 60 minutes. It involves an extensive health history, discussion of your current concerns, and formulation of a custom treatment protocol. To assist with assessment, your ND may perform indicated physical exams & functional tests, and may recommend further diagnostics or conventional lab testing.

Do you offer virtual/telemedicine appointments?
Yes, virtual appointments are available to residents of British Columbia.

How long will it take for me to feel better?
This is a common, but challenging question to answer. Generally, chronic illnesses take longer to heal than acute illnesses. There are many factors that impact your return to health—duration & severity of illness, overall vitality, treatment goals—so this is something your ND will discuss with you on an individual basis.
Is naturopathic medicine covered by insurance or MSP?
The majority of extended health insurance plans provide coverage for naturopathic services. Please inquire with your provider for specific details. MSP coverage is not available at this time.
Direct billing is available for the majority of extended insurance providers.
